It is official…Ms. Yang is now Mrs. Lee!
To help offset some of the medical expenses, the family is selling t-shirts and bracelets. If you are interested in buying either of these, you may contact Mrs. Blackwelder or Mrs. Templeton. There is an order form in the office and you can give your money to Mr. Farley. Shirts are $15 for all sizes (adult small, medium, large, and x-large, youth small, medium and large). 2X is also available, for $17. Bracelets are $3 each.
You can also keep with with Amber's progress through the Facebook page.
The winning class that brought in the most items was Mrs. Lail's 1st grade class. Mrs. Lingle’s 1st grade class came in second and Mrs. Davis' 2nd grade class came in third.
A big thank you to all who donated products to help this generous organization in our local community!
Shuford Elementary School teachers and staff participated in the 2nd Annual NC State Troopers FootChase 5K on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the New Conover City Park in Conover, NC. With a great turn out, the Shuford Owls had serval people that placed within the top 3 of their age groups and overall! This was a great time of fellowship, athleticism and team spirit!
Pictured front to back:
Matt Farley (3rd place in 24-29 age group)
Hiley Davis (2nd place in 20-24 age group)
Lynette Ryhal (1st place in age division and 3rd place in overall women's division)

Our students and staff had a blast participating in all the Read Across America week activities, March 10th-14th. Our school engaged in partner class reading buddies, book swaps, a reading marathon, and our finale was on Friday with a book or Letterland character dress up day!
Congrats to Shuford's, 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Angie Sigmon for being selected from more than 300 applicants to serve as a Teacher Ambassador at this years’ Emerging Issues Forum: Teachers and the Great Economic Debate.
As a Teacher Ambassador, she will be representing public schools and will participate in pre-Forum, Forum and post-Forum activities that will help North Carolina produce, recruit and retain more world-class teachers in the profession.
What an awesome accomplishment, we are so proud of you!
