Talk Like a Pirate Day

Ahoy matey!  Ship Shuford celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day, Friday, September 19.  Everyone in the school, including staff, were invited to dress up like pirates!

The Treasure Trove of Conservation Cove: A Pirate’s Tale
The National Theatre for Children visited our school, on Tuesday, September 16th, to perform The Treasure Trove of Conservation Cove: A Pirate’s Tale, sponsored by Duke Energy.  Our students were lead through a fun pirate treasure hunt, while learning about resources and energy conservation.  Our students and staff also have the opportunity to receive their own energy conservation kits to put their energy saving skills to use at home.

Grandparent's Day Lunch
Our annual Grandparent's Day Lunch was held the week of September 8th.  We saw many beautiful, smiling faces in our school cafeteria this week.  We hope our grandparents enjoyed their special day!
Box Tops for Education/Labels for Education
Welcome to an exciting year at Shuford Elementary School!  This year, our school will be again participating in both the Box Tops for Education program and the Labels for Education program.

This is how we need your help:

1.       CLIP the box tops & labels for education (forms will be sent home with your child)
2.       PASTE them to the appropriate sheets provided (double check the expiration date, please).  Make sure your students name and class is on each form so he/she can receive a prize on collection day.
3.       SEND them to school with your student on collection day.

Thank you so much for your support.  Together we can raise "Free" money to help purchase more materials and technology to better our children's education here at Shuford.

COLLECTION dates can be found on the website calendar.

-Each student will get a prize from the Prize Box for turning his/her collection sheets in on collection day which will be approximately once a month. (Limited to one prize per student)
